All22 Pokémon 151 Challenge: Placement & Reroll Guide
Understand random original-151 Pokémon, the initial reroll allowance, role placement and the difference from a free-choice Builder lineup.

The original 151, one random Pokémon at a time
The 151 Challenge changes the drafting problem: each round rolls one Pokémon from the original 151, and you choose its open football position. You do not get the 17–0 mode’s region-and-type candidate selection. Fill 22 positions before the 17-game season.
The initial panel shows five Pokémon rerolls. Treat that as the starting allowance shown in the reviewed game interface, not a reason to assume each round grants five more. Check the live counter before spending one.
- Open the game’s 151 Challenge tab and choose the formation.
- Start a run and read the random Pokémon’s stats.
- Check all remaining positions before placing it. A useful fit now may be the only good option for a difficult role later.
- If you use a reroll, confirm the counter and reassess the new Pokémon rather than assuming it will be better.
- Fill all 22, complete the season and inspect your lowest-fit roles for the next attempt.
Worked placement: Alakazam versus a late lineman slot
Alakazam’s Special Attack of 135 and Psychic type support the QB role. If QB is open, that is a strong published-factor match. If QB is filled and only OL remains, its Defense of 45 and Weight of 48 kg do not match the OL emphasis nearly as well. The same species can be valuable early and awkward late because the open roles changed.
That is why a fixed “best Pokémon” list cannot solve the full 151 draft. Use your available positions and remaining rerolls. A lightweight fast Pokémon may cover WR, SLOT or CB; a heavy defensive Pokémon gives you a lineman option that a fast special attacker cannot replace.
151 Challenge is different from a no-Legendary Builder
The Builder lets you switch Legendaries on or off and choose players freely. The 151 Challenge uses its own random original-151 pool and scoring scale. Do not treat a “first 150, no Legendaries” social lineup rule as the challenge’s documented pool rule.
Our example lineup is a deliberate non-Legendary team for the free Builder. It is a scouting example, not a claim that you can select that exact team during a random 151 run.
