The published scouting priorities
Read each row as a role-specific checklist. “Key” is the strongest qualitative category in the creator’s chart; “supporting” contributes too. Type nudges are small and cannot rescue a bad stat fit. Exact weights and individual fit ratings are not public.
| Position | Key attributes | Supporting attributes | Type nudges |
|---|---|---|---|
| QB · Quarterback | Sp. Atk | HP + Sp. Def + Speed | Psychic, Normal, Dragon |
| HB · Halfback | Attack + Speed | HP | Fighting, Ground, Normal |
| FB · Fullback | Attack + Defense + Weight (kg) | HP | Rock, Ground, Fighting, Normal |
| SLOT · Slot receiver | Speed | Attack + Sp. Def | Electric, Flying, Fairy |
| WR · Wide receiver | Speed | Attack + Sp. Atk | Electric, Flying |
| TE · Tight end | No single key stat listed | HP + Attack + Defense + Speed + Weight (kg) | Fighting, Water |
| OL · Offensive line | Defense + Weight (kg) | HP | Rock, Steel, Ground, Fighting |
| DE · Defensive end | Attack + Speed | HP + Weight (kg) | Fighting, Dark, Dragon |
| NT · Nose tackle | Weight (kg) | HP + Attack + Defense | Rock, Ground, Steel, Fighting |
| DT · Defensive tackle | Attack + Weight (kg) | HP + Defense | Rock, Ground, Steel, Fighting |
| OLB · Outside linebacker | Attack + Speed | HP + Defense | Fighting, Dark, Bug |
| ILB · Inside linebacker | Attack + Defense | HP + Speed | Fighting, Dark, Ground |
| MLB · Middle linebacker | Attack | HP + Defense + Sp. Def + Speed | Fighting, Dark, Ground |
| CB · Cornerback | Speed | Defense + Sp. Def | Flying, Dark, Ghost |
| S · Safety | Sp. Def + Speed | HP + Defense | Flying, Psychic |
Minor factors, which are lower-priority than supporting attributes: QB Attack; HB Defense and Weight; SLOT HP and Sp. Atk; WR Sp. Def and Height; TE Height; OL Attack and Sp. Def; DE Defense; DT Speed; OLB and ILB Sp. Def; CB Attack and Height; S Sp. Atk. NT and MLB have no minor factor listed. Attributes absent from all three categories do not count for that position in the published chart.
Special Attack is not a generic offensive stat
At QB it represents passing ability. Special Defense supports composure and reading plays. A defensive end instead depends on Attack and Speed, so a Pokémon’s spectacular Special Attack does not make it a good pass rusher by itself.
For OL, compare Defense and Weight before choosing on HP alone. For safety, compare Special Defense and Speed. For tight end, the creator lists a balance of HP, Attack, Defense, Speed and Weight rather than one attribute as the key.
Use size only where it matters
Height contributes at WR, TE and CB and stops adding benefit around 7′3″ (about 2.21 m). Being exceptionally tall does not help a quarterback or linebacker through height.
Weight is strongest at OL, NT, DT and FB. The published guide describes a sliding scale: doubling from 50 to 100 lb matters as much as doubling from 400 to 800 lb. Raw weight sorting finds heavy candidates; it does not reproduce that grading formula.
Kicker is outside a challenge’s Team Score. For the live games, the guide identifies Special Attack and Attack as the leg-strength attributes.
